Welcome to class Bonington!

The teacher in our class is Mr Rogers and our Teaching Assistants are Mrs Galbraith and Mrs Grumett. There are 10 pupils in our KS4 class, we are a mix of year 10 and year 11 pupils.

This term in English our topic is Adventure. We will be learning about the true stories ‘Escape from Alcatraz’ and ‘127 hours’. Our topics in maths this term are measure and money. We hope to take a trip to a local supermarket to use our developing money skills. (Take a look at our curriculum map to see what else we are learning this term). We work towards gaining our AQA entry level certificates at the end of year 11.

Some of our class will be going to Blackley Cemetery to paint bird boxes which will be displayed there. Some pupils from our class will also be going to the Heaton Park Animal Centre to develop skills looking after and caring for the animals.

We enjoy our Vocational learning day on Thursdays which help us to work towards our ASDAN qualification. We are currently taking part in ‘Grow it’ and will be working on gardening skills and woodwork skills. We will be making bee boxes very soon! We also enjoy our creative skills lessons on Friday afternoons. We are currently looking at self-portraits and famous portraits. We will be looking at Vincent Van Gogh and Picasso portraits.
