Our goal is to provide aspirational work experience and outstanding training to our students. Students develop a portfolio of desirable skills that are transferable to a wide range of employment opportunities.
Our Primary motive is to provide students the opportunity to move on to further supported employment, voluntary work or paid employment. These enterprises are ‘not for profit’ and all monies are put back into the development of training for our young people.
Cup & Cake Café opened in 2016 and is based at the Abraham Moss Centre. The café is run by our Post 16 students and serves a wide range of freshly prepared food, including sandwiches, snacks and delicious homemade cakes. The café also serves a wide range of hot and cold beverages including coffee sourced from local roasters ‘Heart & Graft’.
At the café students build upon the knowledge they have gained whilst working in our school based Community Café at North Ridge. They implement these skills in a fully functioning café environment which serves a wide community base.

2nd Handmade is our ‘Pre-Loved’ retail outlet which is also located at the Abraham Moss Centre.
Since opening in 2016, 2nd Handmade has become a hub of the community providing customers with high quality gifts, cards and toys together with a wide range of pre-loved and new clothing all for sale within a contemporary setting.

North Ridge Gift Co, our latest venture, is a gift company producing high quality handmade products. Systematic training methods support our Post 16 learners in designing and making handmade cards and candles, together with a wide range of pottery items. Our products are available online via our Etsy store and are stocked in both Cup & Cake Café and 2nd Handmade.

Our community cafe has recently been re branded. It is now known as Little Cup & Cake.
It is a partner cafe to Cup & Cake, which is our hospitality and catering training centre based at the Abraham Moss centre.
Little Cup and Cake aims to give our students a real life experience in working in a cafe environment. Working at the cafe gives them valuable communication skills when dealing with our customers, and improves their numeracy skills when working on the till and serving customers.
The training they receive at the Cafe follows closely with what takes place at its partner Cafe, Cup & Cake. This greatly helps students in their transition over to the Abraham Moss site.
